St. Paul's came away with the 3-2 victory on the road over the Hilltoppers from Worcester Academy. Riley Maloy put the Big Red ahead early by converting in tight quarters inside the box. Worcester pulled the game even with their own early strike. Felipe Gonzales then put St. Paul's ahead on a beautiful cross from
Noah Ivanov. The Hilltoppers pulled even again before the half on a penalty. After four goals in the first 35 minutes of the match, neither team was able to break through in the first 30 minutes of the second half, though it wasn't for a lack of chances on both sides.
Aarav Mehta made several critical saves with the game on the line and the likes of Maloy, Luke Sughrue,
Luca Walter, and Kingsley Koch generated multiple high-quality scoring opportunities with nothing to show for them. The deadlock was finally broken when Ivanov buried a rebound for the decisive game-winning goal with under 5 minutes left to play. The Big Red will travel to Northfield Mount Hermon on Saturday for a steep test against the Hoggers.
