The Big Red took on the "other" Big Red on Hunt field on one of the chillier afternoons of the fall. The early going saw Exeter with much of the possession and the home side kept their shape and defended well. At the 30 minute mark, an Exeter forward created separation at the top of the box and bent a half volley into the far corner to put his team up 1 – 0. That is how the half would end.
The second half saw SPS come out strong and get their best two chances of the game.
Alexander de Burgh Codrington '28 had a quality chance from the right flank and then minutes later Will Iller '26 created space on the left side and pushed a ball just wide. Ten minutes after that Exeter came alive and found room in the SPS box. The visitors scored three goals in the span of four minutes to change the game, the third being an own goal. Finding the positive, the Big Red continued to work hard, press the ball and looked to win second balls. They were rewarded in the final two minutes of the game when 6

Luka Clark '25 pushed forward and served a super left footed ball across the front of the goal.
Noah Levy '28 dummied the ball taking the keeper out of the play and left the ball for a wise David Kwon '25 who was waiting on the back side. David struck the ball cleanly into the back of the net for his first goal of the season. Well done David.
Next week will be a big one for SPS. The squad takes on Tilton Wednesday, play their final home game Friday under the lights in the 2024 Senior Night and then play Dexter School on Saturday. Looking forward to some more great action. See you there.
Go Big Red!
