Tri captains
Carter Corbett '25, Pat Cooley '25 and Randy Fu '25 found ways to impact the game as the Big Red came away from the Dexter School with a solid 4 – 0 victory. Cooley contributed a pair of goals. The first was a combination with Will Iller '26 who played the way he was facing and Pat played his first touch through the Dexter defense and his second touch was a hard strike to the back of the net. Cooley's second goal was a free kick from 25 yards out that hit nothing but net. Fu scored what may have been the goal of the season as he collected the ball forty yards from goal and played a quick 1 – 2 with Charlie Hepp '25 and followed this by playing a hard outside of the foot ball into 4
th form striker
Evers Saleeby '27. Saleeby held off his defender and sublimely one touched the ball across the 18 to a flashing Fu. Fu one struck a brilliant ball with his left foot into the lower right corner of the net. Shockingly, this was Fu's first goal of his impressive SPS soccer career. Well done, Randy. The first goal of the game came from tireless worker
Lucas Miller '25 who received a ball from Cooley at the top box and hit a clean left footed strike through a crowd of defenders and the Dexter keeper.
Credit the Dexter side who had talent up top with both skill and speed. It was Corbett who shut down any through balls and, as always, provided a presence and energy that help will his team to victory. High marks as well for SPS keeper
Hunter Morton '26. In the first half, Morton communicated with his backs well and cut out several dangerous corner kicks by the Dexter side. In the second half, with the score 2 – 0, and far from over, Morton made two critical saves. The first with 26 minutes to play on a well struck high ball that he held on to well and the again four minutes later, Morton parried a hard shot to his left that was labeled for the upper right corner. Well done, Hunter. A strong effort by the entire SPS side as everyone contributed to the win.
The Big Red heads into the final week of the season with two Lakes Region teams to play. Wednesday it is a trip to the home of the talented Vermont Academy Wildcats. The season finale will be on Saturday at Brewster Academy on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee.
