St. Paul's School wrestling program recorded a convincing 60-24 victory over Buckingham Browne & Nichols School (BB&N) in a match held on December 7th. The team's performance highlighted its strength and depth in various weight divisions.
Starting at the 106-pound weight class, St. Paul's immediately established control.
Markus Lu received a forfeit, giving SPS an early 6-0 lead. This momentum continued as
Noah Lu (113 lbs) pinned Erin Yu in 1:13, extending the lead to 12-0. Caitlin O'Reilly (120 lbs) also received a forfeit, further widening the gap to 18-0.
The middle weights proved to be a showcase of St. Paul's dominance.
Ciaran O'Reilly (126 lbs) secured a lightning-fast pin in just 21 seconds against Zach Kesselheim.
Isaiah Altman (132 lbs), Charlie Lussier (138 lbs),
Ian Chang (144 lbs), and Finn Merell (150 lbs) all followed with impressive pins, building a commanding 48-0 lead for St. Paul's.
BB&N managed to get on the board at 157 pounds when Matthew Walsh pinned
Bo Williams. Weston Tregay (165 lbs) and Max Crafter (175 lbs) also secured wins for BB&N, preventing a shutout. However, St. Paul's responded strongly.
Alex High (190 lbs) quickly pinned Colin Hoffman in under a minute, and Mike Seward (215 lbs) followed with another pin, securing the victory for St. Paul's. Laim Cunningham (285 lbs) of BB&N won the final match of the night.
