Returning to action for an away match against the Big Red of Exeter, the SPS tennis team came up short, losing 1 – 8. In the first round of matches, SPS sent out all six singles players. Each player fought hard, rallying with their opponents and forcing them to earn each point. Christian Freed, Alejandro Bauta, and Luke Childs lost 8 – 3, 8 – 4, and 8 – 0 at spots 1, 2, and 3. Heqiao Wang, Henry Dennis, and Nicolas Davalos lost 8 – 4, 8 – 2, and 8 – 2. Searching for our first point after the singles matches, our doubles pairings went onto the court. Sachin and Sergio Chedraui Serrano went back and forth with their opponents at position 1 doubles before pulling away to win 8 – 5. Partners Chit Yu Tony Lai and Harry Eichelberger and Matthew  and Jaden Patel played well in their first matchups together but lost 8 – 3 and 8 – 2. This gave Exeter the win with a final score of 8 – 1. Looking ahead to Saturday, the Big Red return to Lakes Region play and hope to bounce back with a match at Tilton.
