The Big Red JV Tennis team returned to action on Saturday with a big win against the Tilton School Rams at Tilton. In the first round of matches, the SPS doubles pairings jumped out to a 2 – 1 lead and the Big Red never looked back. At first doubles, Luke Childs and Christian Freed were in control the entire time and took the first point for SPS with an 8 – 0 win. At third doubles, Maksym Sendziuk and Jaden Patel went back and forth with their opponents early on, but then found some separation in the second half of the match to win 8 – 3. At second doubles, Nicolas Davalos and Harry Eichelberger got off to a quick start, but fell short as their opponents battled back with a final score of 5 – 8. SPS continued to earn points up and down the lineup in singles, winning five of the six matches. Alejandro Bauta, Harry, and Jaden played hard against their opponents in back-and-forth games before pulling away to win their matches 8 – 2, 8 – 2, and 8 – 4, at first, fourth and fifth singles. Chit Yu Tony Lai struggled against a really strong opponent and fell 1 – 8 at third singles. Finishing up the day for the Big Red, Jeb and Maksym were dominant throughout their entire match to win 8 – 0.
