On Friday, May 10, less than 24 hours before the start of the Lakes Region League Tournament, the SPS Varsity Girls Tennis team hit the road to play the Proctor Hornets in Andover, N.H.  The Big Red swept with a 9-0 victory. 
 
Liz Harder '25 at number one singles and Poppy Duggal '25 at number three both closed their matches down with tidy 8-0 scores. 
 
Co-captain Helen Berger '24 at number two and Amelia Guest '25 at number four both went 8-2, while co-captain Sophia Burdge at number five and Char Machiels '25 at number six both finished 8-1.
 
In doubles play, the duos of Harder and Duggal at number one and Burdge and Guest at number two posted 8-1 wins.
 
Sixth Formers Skylar Christoffersen and Lidia Zur Muhlen on the third line held on for an 8-5 win.
 
Logan Bensadoun '25 and Emery Gay '26 teamed up for an exhibition doubles match that went their way, 8-1.
 
After the LRL Tournament on Saturday, May 11, at Brewster Academy, the SPS team heads into its final week of competition with a return trip to Brewster on Wednesday and its final home match versus Exeter on Saturday.
