The SPS girls varsity tennis team played Lakes Region League opponents Vermont Academy on Saturday and Holderness School on Monday and won both indoor matches 9-0.
Against Vermont, Emery Gay '26 at #1 and
Lily Chibnik '28 at #4 both finished 8-0.
Daisy Singer '27 at #3 and
Amelia Chun '28 at #6, in her varsity singles debut, both turned in 8-1 scores. Ari Rubiralta Kunze '27 at #2 and Didi Machiels '28 at #5 both went 8-3.
In doubles play, Gay and Chibnik paired up for the first time in the top spot and played to an 8-5 win. In the #2 position, Rubiralta Kunze and Singer had a comfortable 8-1 win while Machiels and Chun celebrated an 8-0 victory as the #3 duo.
Hosting Holderness on a rainy Monday, SPS hit the gas and kept the pedal to the metal, giving up just four games across singles and doubles play.
Liz Harder '25 at #1, Emery Gay '26 at #5 and
Clara Tcherepnin at #6 all finished 8-0;
Poppy Duggal '25 at #2 and
Amelia Guest '25 at #4 gave up one game each in their pro sets; and Char Machiels '25 at #3 finished 8-2.
In doubles play, Harder and Duggal, Char Machiels and Guest, and Didi Machiels '28 and
Amelia Chun '28 all finished 8-0.
