Saturday, 5/11/24 Lakes Region Tournament Results, at New Hampton

Each of the nine teams from the Lakes Region League sent their top two singles players and their top two doubles teams to face off in each category.

Our Captains, JB Estes and Enoch Huang represented us in singles at number one and two respectively.  JB dropped only one game, winning 24 games on his journey to becoming the best Lake Region player in 2024. He beat Proctor 8-0, the Tilton 8-1, and finished with Brewster in the finals 8-0.

Enoch looked sharp in his first match against Proctor, winning 8-1, then stunned Tilton with an 8-3 win. In the finals against Brewster's number two player, Enoch fought back from a 5-2 deficit to even the score at 7-7. In the tiebreaker, Enoch looked focused and determined to win, which is what he did with a score of 7-3.

Meanwhile Peter Ding and Kayan Hands were on their way to becoming Champions of the number two doubles draw. They beat KUA 8-3 in the first round, Cardigan 8-2 next, and New Hampton 8-1 in the finals. Kayan and Peter played well throughout the tournament, taking advantage of precision serves and strong groundstrokes.

Our number one doubles team of Hunter Morton and Pierce Trevisani made quick work of a challenging KUA team in their first round match, winning 8-2. Then they played Brewster. It was a back and forth match with countless sudden-death, deuce points. A few shots going in favor of Brewster was all it took to decide our fate of an 8-6 loss. Brewster went on to win the number one doubles Champions title.

The 2024 Lakes Region Tournament gave us a chance to display our talent and sportsmanship to all of the coaches, players, parents and fans. It was a memorable day for the Big Red!
