On a rainy Saturday, April 12, the Varsity Girls Tennis team traveled to Groton without its top two players and missing two other Sixth Formers. Every remaining member of the team was able to play.
In doubles,
Charlotte Machiels '25 and
Amelia Guest '25 were blanked in the top spot while
Daisy Singer '27 and
Ariadna Rubiralta Kunze '27 #2 went 2-8 while Third Formers
Amelia Chun and
Lily Chibnik got on the board with 1-8.
In doubles four (exhibition), Third Formers
Dorothy Machiels and
Naomi Mykoniatis had an energetic 4-8 outing.
In singles play,
Charlotte Machiels rose two spots to play #1 and finished 1-6, 0-6. Guest at #2 played to a score that in no way reflects the many deuce games she fought for; she and Emery Gay '26 at #3 were both shut out.
Clara Tcherepnin '26 at #4 played a smart game with good adjustments in front of her opponent's very supportive teammates and finished 0-6, 1-6.
Daisy Singer '27 at #5 and Rubiralta Kunze at #6 both went 1-6, 1-6.
The day ended 0-9 for Big Red, splitting the week's matches after a win at Northfield Mount Hermon on Wednesday.
