Six members of the girls varsity tennis team traveled to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., on Saturday, May 16, for the rescheduled Lakes Region League tournament to compete in its four categories: Singles 1, Singles 2, Doubles 1 and Doubles 2. Every member played into the finals of their category with the Doubles 1 and Doubles 2 duos claiming their championships. 

Big Red's lone senior, Emery Gay, and her partner, Lily Chibnik '28, had to wait for their Doubles 2 action to begin after they drew a first-round bye. Once they hit the courts, though, there was no stopping them — they defeated a New Hampton duo 8-0 to advance to the finals, where they played to an 8-0 victory over Proctor for the title, making it back-to-back championships in the category after Rhys Rountree '25 and Logan Bensadoun '25 won it in 2025.

In the other categories, play was immediate and nearly nonstop. 

Bay Bauta '29 competed in the Singles 1 category and had strong matches against Vermont Academy (8-4) and Proctor (8-0) before Brewster's senior, who hadn't dropped a single match in her entire Brewster career, bested her in the finals (8-0).  

Playing Singles 2, Grace Walker '28 cruised through the first two rounds against KUA (8-1) and Holderness (8-0) before meeting her opponent from Brewster, who took the title with an 8-1 victory. 
In Doubles 1 play, Fifth Formers Daisy Singer and Ari Rubiralta Kunze teamed up for wins over Proctor (8-2) and Brewster (8-1) before claiming their championship title with an 8-1 win over New Hampton.
