It was the first match of the season for both St. Paul's School and Pingree School on Wednesday, April 2, and SPS swept with a 9-0 victory outside at home.
Sixth Form co-captain Liz Harder handed in a 6-2, 6-1 score while formmate Charlotte Machiels in the #3 spot posted 6-1, 6-2. Co-captain Poppy Duggal '25 persevered at #2 to come out on top, 6-4, 7-5. In the #4 position, Emery Gay '26 romped to a 6-0, 6-1 conclusion. At #6, Clara Tcherepnin '26 finished 6-2, 6-0.
Logan Bensadoun '25 and Emery Gay '26 finished their #3 doubles match, 8-1, before Ari Rubiralta Kunze '27 had pushed through to her winning match tiebreaker at #5 singles.
Machiels and Naomi Mykoniatis '28 paired up for #2 doubles and staged an incredible turnaround, coming back from 0-5 to triumph 8-6.
Harder and Duggal headed out to play an abbreviated match in the top doubles spot, finishing at 6-3 so the Highlanders could head south to home as the temperature dropped.
