B6: both crews got off the line cleanly, with Exeter starting to build advantage right away.  As the crews moved through the first 500m, Exeter established a clear water lead over St. Paul's.  In the middle 500m, Exeter extended their lead, and in the third 500m, Exeter continued to widen the gap, finishing with a comfortable margin.
 
B5: both crews got out well, with Exeter taking a small lead early.  Exeter built on this lead, moving through 500m with clear water over St. Paul's.  In the middle 500m, St, Paul's made an effort to cut into Exeter's lead, but Exeter responded well, absorbing this push and then countering effectively.  In the third 500m Exeter widened their lead to finish comfortably ahead of St. Paul's.
 
B4: both crews got off the line well, with Exeter establishing a slight lead over St. Paul's.  St. Paul's responded well, and closed the gap such that the crews moved through 500m fairly level.  In the middle 500m both crews made efforts to push into the lead, with St. Paul's slowly giving way to Exeter.  In the third 500m Exeter worked to extend their lead and finish open water ahead of St. Paul's.
 
B3: Exeter executed a more aggressive start, claiming an early lead over St. Paul's.  They built on this lead steadily, moving through 500m open water ahead of St. Paul's.  In the middle 500m Exeter extended their lead, putting a fair amount of clear water between them and St. Paul's.  In the third 500m Exeter continued to extend their lead, finishing with substantial clear water between them and St. Paul's.
 
B2: both crews got out well, with Exeter pushing to into the early lead.  St. Paul's responded well, stopping Exeter's movement and holding overlap through the first 500m.  In the middle 500m Exeter extended their lead, breaking to clear water roughly 800m into the race.  Once Exeter had clear water the crews held speed, with Exeter slowly extending their lead to finish just over two lengths clear of St. Paul's.
 
B1: both crews got off the line well, with Exeter taking a small early lead.  At 500m Exeter had extended this lead to ½ length, and by 750m Exeter had extended their lead to one length.  Both crews had moments of struggle with the wind as it swirled from cross-tail to cross-head, but both reestablished rhythm and flow to hold even with Exeter about  1½ lengths ahead of St. Paul's.  In the final sprint, Exeter extended their lead to roughly 2 lengths at the finish.
 
 
Overall, this was a good day of racing against very talented opposition.  For most crews, our speed this week showed improvement over prior racing and sets us up well for the final preparations for the NEIRA Championships.
