The Big Red Golf team traveled to Breakfast Hill Golf Club on Wednesday to play a tri-match vs Exeter and Cushing. In the stroke play format, eight golfers played, and each team counted the best six scores of the eight players. On a cold spring afternoon and facing a difficult layout, the SPS golfers fared well, but ultimately came up short against their opponents from Exeter and Cushing. The low round of the day was shot by #8 Sammy Pargiolas, who played well throughout his round to shoot a 5 over 41. Other scores in the overall total were from #4 Callum Green and #7 Nolan Chen, who both shot a 44. #2 William Birks and #3 James Bohm shot a 49 and 47 respectively and rounding out the best six scores of the day was #6 Henry Gu, who shot a 50. Overall, the Big Red lost the combined stroke-play event with a score of 275, following Cushing's score of 255, and the home team Exeter's score of 230. After this event, the Big Red will enjoy the mid-spring recess before returning to competition on Wednesday to face the Wildcats of KUA at Newport.
